2016.06.28  Argentina's Severance Judgment Subject to Georgia Arbitration. After signing severance and transition agreements, executive sued in Argentina and collected "significantly more in severance benefits."  BellSouth then sought review through arbitration under the Federal Arbitration Act (FAA), pursuant to the transition agreement. In Wior v BellSouth, a Georgia district court reviewed the interplay of the FAA, the UN Convention (on foreign arbitrations), and the Georgia choice of law provision - ultimately agreeing with BellSouth to stay the litigation until arbitration determined statute of limitation and other issues.
